Here you’ll get to see the new riverfront area, once home to a historic steam brewery. The walk also takes you through the beautiful city park, past one of Skellefteå’s most famous statues, the Oden Woman. And as you pass Skellefteå Tourist Center, be sure to stop by for more inspiration for your day or the rest of your stay.

Be sure to visit Nordanå, Skellefteå’s cultural hub, where you'll find a museum, a charming country store with a café, and an inn serving delicious meals. Walk past Bonnstan, the historic church town dating back to the 1600s, then continue to Landskyrkan and Lejonströmsbron—the oldest wooden bridge in Sweden.

Finish your stroll with a walk along the river promenade, and perhaps make a detour to Kyrkoholmen, where during summer you'll find a cozy café offering delicious homemade pastries at great prices.

Hälsans Stig in Skellefteå city

The walking trail is a seven-kilometer loop that stretches along both sides of the Skellefte River, from Älvsbacka Bridge in the east to Lejonströms Bridge in the west. This accessible route is perfect for walking, Nordic walking, or jogging during the summer months. Distance markers are placed every kilometer in both directions, making it easy to track your distance no matter where you start or finish your walk.
